About Us

Myanmar (Burma) is one of the only prominent Asian countries with a rich and diverse culinary heritage that remains untapped in the Western world. The country’s keystone position in South East Asia provides for a fantastically varied yet unique cuisine with strong influences from India, Thailand and China. With the country swiftly emerging from decades of oppression, and with more international attention than ever before, Dan (who has Burmese heritage) and Burmese Chef, Zaw, have established Lahpet, with the ambition of making Burmese food popular and accessible.

Our Food

We plan to bring Burmese cuisine to the fore by focusing on and refining those dishes that are ubiquitous across Myanmar. We will also be taking a more contemporary approach by exploring the use and pairing of a wide array of indigenous ingredients in order to offer our customers more innovative dishes – all executed with a touch of finesse and plenty of passion.
